  • Jan 29, 2018 | Gail Cole

New sales tax rates take effect in Wyoming on April 1, 2018.

Several local sales and use tax and lodging tax rate changes are set to take effect in Wyoming on April 1, 2018.

County changes

Niobrara County is adding a special purpose county option tax, increasing the combined rate from 5% to 6%.

Sweetwater County is eliminating a special purpose county option tax, dropping the combined rate from 6% to 5%. As a result of this rate decrease, the total lodging and sales and use tax rate in Sweetwater County will drop from 9% to 8%.

City changes

Due to the Niobrara County rate increase, the total lodging and sales and use tax rate in the Town of Lusk will jump from 8% to 9%.
